Ricky Pearsall was shot on Saturday at Union Square in San Francisco during an attempted robbery. His mother Erin Pearsall shared vital updates regarding her son on late Saturday.
The San Francisco 49ers’ first-round draft pick was attempted to be mugged at gunpoint. The wide receiver and the mugger got involved in a physical brawl in which both were shot. Pearsall was shot in the chest and transported in an ambulance.
Pearsall’s mother, Erin, provided an update about her son’s condition on Facebook.
“Update on my baby boy. First and (foremost), I want to thank GOD for protecting my baby boy. He is extremely lucky, GOD shielded him. He was shot in the chest and it exited out his back. Thanks be to GOD it missed his vital organs. He is in good spirits right now. Life is so precious my friends. Please love each other. My son was spared today by the grace of GOD. Please pray for my baby.”

The 49ers had a lot riding on their young wide receiver Ricky Pearsall. However, in this tragedy, the team has forgone athletic ventures and wishes for a healthy recovery. During the late hours of Saturday, the franchise also provided an update on the matter.
“San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall was the victim of an attempted robbery and shooting this afternoon. He sustained a bullet wound to his chest and is in serious but stable condition. We ask that you please respect his privacy at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with Ricky and the entire Pearsall family”
The 49ers begin their season against the New York Jets on Sep. 9. As of now, it is unclear whether Pearsall will be able to take part this season.
